About the Trainer

Deb Monde is a Certified Search and Rescue Training Specialist. She has been specializing in Search and Rescue including obedience for nearly 10 years. Deb began her career training 2 German Shepherd dogs in agility, followed by several years training Search and Rescue dogs including her own three dogs - Hunter, Murphy and Phalcon. These combined activities led to her interest in training pet dogs for obedience and agility to share her unique approach through years of personal experience.  Deb has a gift for connecting with animals. They respond to her almost immediately. Deb will teach you what you need to know to do the same for your animal. Deb will also make sure you have a chance to apply what you are learning throughout the process.

She currently handles three canines that she trained and certified in Wilderness, Advance Cadaver Detection and Submerged Victim Water Recovery and recently Disaster. Deb and her dogs "Hunter", "Murphy" and Phalcon have certified to the standards of various nationally recognized police and search dog associations. Deb is certified to teach Search Management. She is a graduate of numerous courses of instruction including Fundamentals of Search and Rescue, Crime Scene preservation, Land Navigation and NIMS. She is a member of the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT), International Police Working Dog Association (IPWDA). Deb is actively involved in the Town of Farmington Fire Dept currently assigned as a Search and Rescue Canine Handler.

Deb has advanced her canine training expertise under the tutelage of many master trainers who are authorities in the field of canine search and rescue for Cadaver, Wilderness, Water Recovery and Disaster. She is currently assigned as a trainer for Jonni Joyce Seminars. Deb has trained several SAR canine teams that have, as a result of her competent instruction, achieved their certifications or are currently working towards their certification. 
 

Deb is also a AKC CGC Evaluator and a member of APDT.

Deb volunteers for the Farmington Fire Dept.  In her free time she continues to study Canine Behavior and hangs out with her son.
